Diana F+

Reher, Germany

Created in the 1960s and gradually disappearing in the 70s the Diana was originally made in Hong Kong and marketed as a novelty. The camera is known for its low-quality plastic meniscus lens that often produces dreamlike light leaks and defects. In 2007 after the Holga camera’s surge in popularity the Lomographic Society International re-released a new Diana, conceptualized as the Holga predecessor, and introduced the Diana+ with added pinhole and endless panorama settings as well as the system version the Diana F+ which includes interchangeable lenses and flashes.

Pinhole settings on the Diana+ and the Diana F+ allow for the model to be used in pinhole photography. By removing the lens and reducing the aperture to its smallest size light is let into the camera at a snail’s pace. These exposures are extremely long and very soft focus producing signature old school dreamy qualities.
“...the stories we tell and the images we make produce, rather than reflect, our sense of identity...”
